I am just wondering what points are dangerous or not ideal to use when someone is suffering from acid reflux or too much stomach acid?

    That’s a good question Mark.

Most people will think using ST36 (Zusanli) point will good for stomach problems, but when you have too much stomach acid, or weak esophagus which is causing acid to leak, then using ST36 is not a good point to use at all – it will actually increase the acidity of the patient’s stomach and will make the condition worse.

It is better to tell the patient to eat more meat (not mixed with carbs like rice, potatoes, bread etc) so that the acidity is absorbed by digesting of meat.

Taking acidity pills you find off the shelf are not ideal, you are decreasing the whole stomach acidity then, and that is not a good thing if you want to be able to digest food properly.

What if you sedate the ST36 point? Will that reduce stomach acid and help with acid relflux?

You can sedate it, but you need to do it lightly, and not strong.

I think also burning moxa on CV6 is not a good idea as that might create more stomach acid

other than eating meat is there anything else that might help with it, if you can’t do acupuncture and things? and is any meat okay or any specific types/ cuts that are better? thanks 😀

the meats should be lean meats with no fats on them – fats behave like sugars when in the body, and this does not help someone suffering from acid reflux at all.

all meats, but beef or meat parts from the cow are most absorbed by the body to help heal the stomach – but since you need to stay on this long term, you can mix other meats like chicken and lamb as well.

@James , my mother pops those anti-acids as often as she drinks water :/ She won’t stick to that diet, but I dread to think of all the damage it has caused over the years.

thanks to this post, i have fixed my acid reflux problem!!! you have no idea how grateful I am, and also amazed that my doctor at a private NHS clinic could not help me… other than give me those anti-acid pills that never really worked to resolve the problem
