    Hi Guys,

I was wondering how daoist acupuncture treats anxiety and how should one treat it, in terms of needling, moxa and also anything else… ie patients lifestyle etc

Would be grateful if you can help answer this

The best thing for anxiety really is to take B-complex vitamins (the most expensive you can buy, the better – like from solgar ). and combine that with intense exercise, as its often a nerve related problem which needs soothing.

You can treat it with the 4 gates system but it depends on the pulse of the patient.

Yes lots of exercise will do the trick. Most people want a pacifier to feel better, but often it is a matter of taking things into your own hands and dealing with it with your best knowledge.

Moxibustion on CV4 will help, but you have to try to burn bigger, at least build up to it.

Yes, sorry i forgot about the moxa, cv4 and cv12 will help build the capacity as it generally adds energy into the body. Remember this is direct moxibustion.

@Z I know this is a basic question, but would moxibustion be only useful in certain cases because i read online that it is used mainly for ‘cold’ conditions?

if there is no visible inflammation on the body, then it is okay to use moxa. if there are visible inflammation, deal with that first, and then do moxa for anxiety.
