EricKimParticipantIn this pokemon game charcoal is given to you when you reach lavaridge town.
Lavaridge Town is a charming little settlement located in central western Hoenn. It’s nestled at the southern foot of Mt. Chimney and is renowned for its hot springs, which are said to cure any ailment. Elderly citizens often visit Lavaridge Town to enjoy the relaxing benefits of these natural hot baths.
Now, here’s where things get interesting: the Herb Shop in Lavaridge Town sells four different types of herbal medicine. These herbs are known for their extreme bitterness, and when used, they can actually cause a Pokémon’s friendship to decrease. So, it’s a bit of a trade-off: bitter taste for potential healing effects!
Inside the Herb Shop, you’ll encounter an old man who generously hands out a special item called Charcoal. This hold item boosts the power of Fire-type moves for your Pokémon. So, while the herbs may be bitter, the Charcoal is definitely a better cure for your Fire-type Pokémon’s battling prowess!
This is what he says.
“You’ve come all the way to look at herbal medicine in Lavaridge? That’s rather commendable! I like you! Take this!” (he gives you charcoal)
That Charcoal I gave you is used for making herbal medicine. It can also do wonders when held by a Pokémon. It powers up Fire-type moves!
Herbal medicine works impressively well. But your Pokémon will dislike you for it. It must be horribly bitter!
The display reads: The more bitter it tastes, the better it works! What they appear to be doing is turning herbs…into charcoal then making tea.
What are your thoughts on this?

ZKeymastereastern medicine is a lot more complex than that, yes many herbs are medicinal, but very few can do what moxa does, and that too, normal moxa, and direct moxibustion on cv4 point, rice grain size, 9 times each time (more is not better in this case) done for at least 100 days.

EricKimParticipantYes I tried that. But i’m still suffering…
It was only after talking to Master Chris Dining that he said burn ABOVE the belly button four finger widhs did I FINALLY get relif from my hangover.
This method works so much better I do indirect burning using a corncob pipe with part of it shaved off so the heat heats up my stomach.

ZKeymasterIndirect moxa is just a therapy and not medicine level – four fingers level is not the best way to locate the point, you have to look at the bones too – and compare where cv12 is, which is what he asked you to do from the sounds like it.
it works better with direct, just very tiny rice grain size, but make sure no windows or air is flowing in the room you do it, otherwise you ruin the moxibustion. the smoke should ideally go straight up.

EricKimParticipantInteresting. That’s probably why it stopped working. I gained weight because of something…and I remember one day thinking hey it stopped working…odd day as it use to work really well. Even though I was doing indirect I still managed a burn.
I had high quality Korea insan moxa, not only did it use to cure the hangover but made you feel really good too!
Haven’t tried it in years.
